An English institution that has gone global, Clarks began with a flash of inspiration back in 1825 in a Somerset village. James Clark was working at the tannery owned by his brother Cyrus, when he noticed the off-cuts and cast-offs piling up and had a brainwave to create slippers with them. In the decades that have passed the brand has seen trends come and go, but it has remained a stalwart on the British high street, as well as internationally. Its main philosophy has remained the same - to put heart into every pair of shoes to create stylish footwear that protects and cares for its customer’s feet.
