Interview with Madiya Al Sharqi

Why have you chosen Level Kids to introduce an exclusive children’s collection?

Being the region’s leading children’s department store, Level Kids was the perfect fit to debut children’s designs for the first time. And it was a remarkable opportunity that a home grown concept such as them is open to supporting local talents like us.

How would you describe this collaboration?

Creating pieces for young girls and seeing them come to life was an exciting experience – even more when the young model fit them for the campaign shoot!

Why did you choose these particular pieces to replicate as part of the mini-me trend?

The offering included a camel woven sleeveless dress with ruffles on the hems, a matching silver textured jacket and mini skirt with metallic fringes keeping mind to create easy pieces that mothers can throw on their little girls for a special occasion.

What do you think of the Mini Me trend?

It’s recently had a coming of age again so I’m happy to be a part of that fun movement; in a fashion forward way that mothers and their daughters don’t have to be matching down to a T. It can just be complimenting silhouettes or fabrics.

What inspired you for the design of these pieces?

The woven camel fabric, silver textures and fringes were signatures of the women’s SS17 Collection so we naturally gravitated to them when creating the mini me pieces.

What’s your message to Level Kids on their 1-year anniversary?

Wishing Level Kids more years of success and fun collaborations down the road!
